One thing that separates us from other veterinarians is that we see exotic pets! We consider exotic pets to be pets other than cats and dogs, such as:
reptiles, birds and small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, hamsters, etc). Exotic pets require more specialized care than cats and dogs, so it is important to be well informed on these pets before you purchase or adopt them. Our veterinarians are a wealth of knowledge for care of exotic pets. They can help guide you in areas such as nutrition, general wellness and husbandry. They are also here to help you when your pet is sick and needs critical care or even surgery.
EOAh provides the following services for exotic pets:
- Consultation for well pets to discuss nutrition and basic wellness, including vaccines as recommended by the veterinarian
- Surgery, including spaying and neutering for small mammals
- Routine or critical lab work
- Critical or emergency care
- Sexing for birds
Some animals can carry zoonotic diseases, which can be transferred to humans. It is important to speak to your veterinarian regarding what the diseases are and how to protect yourself. It is not difficult, but does require some attention.
We offer Harrison's Bird Foods and Oxbow Animal Products.

Please note: Our veterinarians are available to discuss general husbandry, but due to the intricacies of exotic pets, an appointment must be scheduled if there are any concerns other than basic care.
