Name: Kerry Jackson, DVM
Born: London, England
Why did you choose veterinary care? Though I considered being a ballerina, I made the decision to become a veterinarian when I was 5 years old because of the love, appreciation and passion I have for all animals.
Accreditation & Accolades: Graduated cum laude from the University of Tampa with a B.S. in Biology and then graduated with Honors from The University of Florida with a M.S. in Veterinary Science.
In the biz? I've been a veterinarian since 1992 and have a special interest in small animal (cat & dog) medicine and surgery, behavior therapy, avian reptile, rabbit and ferret medicine and small "pocket pet" care.
What do you do in your free time: Outside, I enjoy raising a fall and spring crop of vegetables and herbs, adding native plants to the landscape for wildlife to enjoy, running, boating and camping. Inside, I enjoy arts & crafts.
Family Members: I share my home with a corn snake and two cockatiels.
Community / Volunteer Work: Some of my volunteer work includes participating in the "Wiggle Waggle Walk" with the Orange County Humane Society, volunteering my expertise to the Florida Parrot Rescue, Central Florida Wildlife Rehabilitation, Inc. and Back to Nature Wildlife Rehabilitation. I also enjoy fundraising for the American Stroke Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and running marathons to help the Susan B. Komen Foundation.
