Jessica grew up in Cuba until she was 6 years old, then moved to Florida and started working at EOAH in January 2023. Living in Cuba, Jessica sadly witnessed many strays living in poverty-stricken areas which made a significant impression on her. On one occasion, she found a pregnant dog that had been poisoned and felt she might have been able to save her if she’d known what to do. Those experiences led to her determination to pursue vet med as her calling.
Jessica has now earned her A.A. and is presently working on earning her Bachelor’s in Biology, on the pre-vet track. Her goal is to apply to vet school and become a veterinarian so she can help those like the strays from her childhood. While she is working toward her dreams, she is getting hands-on experience caring for the patients at EOAH.
Outside work and school, she loves gaming, drawing, and spending time with her fur babies and family.
